The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has banned Nurul Miah from working in financial services. This action follows findings by the Solicitors Regulation Authority (SRA) that Miah allowed over £28 million of client money to be taken from accounts without permission between April 2019 and July 2020.
The FCA relied on the SRA's findings to conclude that Miah lacked the honesty and integrity required to work in financial services. The FCA's decision is documented in the Final Notice regarding Nurul Miah.
This ban applies to Nurul Miah, also known as Neil Mia and Neil Miah, who was a non-legal manager at Kingly Solicitors Limited. Miah was previously approved by the FCA in 2016 to work in senior management roles at Oracle Consultants Ltd.
The FCA has publicized this decision to inform consumers and firms that Miah cannot work in financial services. Therese Chambers, executive director of enforcement and market oversight, stated that Miah's actions warranted this ban to protect consumers and maintain confidence in the financial system.
