ESMA published the interim MiCA register on 22 October 2026. This register provides access to white papers for crypto-assets, issuers of Asset-Referenced Tokens (ART), and Electronic Money Tokens (EMT). The document requires firms to review the register and associated white papers for compliance with MiCA.
The instrument relied upon is the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), specifically Articles 109 and 110. These articles empower ESMA to publish a central register of crypto-asset white papers and service providers by 30 December 2024.
The interim MiCA register applies to crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) and token issuers. It includes information on non-compliant entities as well.
The interim register will be updated regularly until mid-2026, when it will be integrated into ESMA's IT systems. ESMA will publish the latest version of the register weekly.
The white papers listed in the interim register have not been reviewed or approved by any competent authority in the EU. Firms are responsible for the content of their crypto-asset white papers.
