Dutch Central Bank Removes Deadline for Crypto Service Providers

The Dutch Central Bank has removed the deadline of 23 October 2026 for application forms related to crypto service providers, impacting compliance timelines under MiCA.

The Dutch Central Bank (DNB) has removed the deadline of 23 October 2026 for application forms related to crypto service providers. This change affects the regulatory timeline for compliance under the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCAR), which came into force in late 2024.

DNB's actions relate to its role in the supervision of crypto-asset service providers (CASPs) as outlined in MiCAR. DNB is responsible for regular prudential supervision of CASPs and for assessing proposed holdings in CASPs.

The removal of the deadline may lead crypto service providers to reassess their timelines for submitting applications or compliance documentation. No new deadlines or requirements have been announced yet, and firms should stay updated on further announcements from DNB.
